The Parklands area is home to the national park, Riding Mountain. Here, you can find wildlife like bears, cougar, lynx, wolves, elk, moose, beaver, some bison and many other interesting fauna.
Cities in the Parklands are include Dauphin (home of the Dauphin Ukrainian Festival and Countryfest), Minnedosa, Roblin and Neepawa. Smaller centres include Gladstone, Russell and Ste Rose du Lac.
Dotted with hills and small pot lakes, it has a wealth of “puddle ducks,” plus miles and miles of grain and canola growing.
Its weather is more changeable than much of Manitoba, due to small mountains that divert western and northwestern winds. Intense storms, both in summer and winter, are frequent, but it is a beautiful environment.
