Beausejour is a town of about 3,400 people near the intersections of Highways 44 and 12 in the eastern region of the province. While it has many grain and several livestock farms, it is at the edge of the boreal forest, near Whiteshell Park, south of teh gold mines of Bissett and east of Lake Winnipeg.
Beausejour has all the amenities of a small city, on a lesser scale, with a full grocery store, a couple of convenience stores, many coffee shops and restaurants, clothing and specialty stores, golf course and nearby campgrounds. Beausejour’s annual Snowmobile Races attract thousands each winter, while tourists travelling through to the lake country and provincial parks to the east stop by often.
