Dominion City is only a handful of kilometers from the US border in southeast corner of Manitoba. With a population of about 320, it is teh larger sister to Tolstoi, also on the border and slightly further east.
While only a small hamlet, it boasts the biggest statue of a sturgeon in the region, with a 15.5 foot (4 meter) length. What makes it unique among oversized statues is that it is the actual size of a sturgeon caught in the nearby Rosseau River in 1903. It weighs 406 pounds.
