Blumenort

The Heart of Canada

Just a couple of decades ago, Blumenort consisted of little more than a few houses set back from Highway 12 south of Highway 1, a lumber store and a meat processing facility. Today, it has seen an explosion of residences, a great school, park, stores and more. It still retains the flavour of its religious, Mennonite roots (due primarily to nearby Steinbach, a city with extremely strong religious background), but it has also become a wonderful bedroom community servicing Steinbach (5 km) and Winnipeg (40 km). In 2001, it had a population of 875. In 2021, it had grown to almost 1,800 people.
