In 1947, a collision between two trains killed 3 people at Dugald. But, today, Dugald offers natural, pastoral living near Winnipeg and Birds Hill Park.
Halfway between Anola and Winnipeg on Highway 115, Dugald has a population of about 620. It is in the heart of a grain-growing region and along one of the primary rail lines that traverse the province. Because of its proximity to Winnipeg, it has seen recent growth. The town has a sizeable local store, a beautiful recreation park and a few interesting small businesses and fast food restaurants.
