Gruntal, hidden deep in the forests of southeast Manitoba on the edge of the Sandilands area, remained well-hidden from main highway traffic for a century, but recently has seen an explosion of new residents and new interest in the community,largely as a result of the growth of nearby Steinbach. It also hosts a wonderful summer festival, including well-known musicians. But don’t forget to visit its iconic statue–a true Manitoba bison.
