Fisher Branch: Much More Than a Giant Wagon Wheel

The Heart of Canada: Connecting North, East and West

Fisher Branch is a relatively isolated community, located along Highway 17 that ends near Lake Winnipeg’s western shore next to Fisher River First Nations, but it remains a very liveable community, with an ssortment of small shops, grocery and restaurants.

Located over 100km north of Winnipeg, Fisher Branch, population 485, lies between Poplarfield on Highway 68 & 17 and Hodgson, on Highway 17. To the north are three First Nations communities: Fisher River, Peguis and Kinonjeoshtegon.

Fisher Branch is a farming community, with a town that has all the necessary day-to-day supplies needed by locals. Farming is mixed, including grain, hogs, cattle and turkeys. It entices hunters from all around for large game, bear and waterfowl.
